弗谢沃洛德·伊万诺夫，Vsevolod Vyacheslavovich Ivanov was born on February 24, 1895, in a Siberian village of Lebyazhe, Semipalatinsk province, Russian Empire (now Lebyazhe, Kazakhstan). His father was a school teacher. Young Ivanov studied at School of Agriculture in Pavlodar.
